McMinnville resident and Coffee County native Mattie Lee Maxwell, 90, was born Dec. 3, 1923 and died April 14 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness.A retired employee of Walmart and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Charlie C. and Maggie Mae Smith Hennessee. She was married March 12, 1944 to Joe Bell Maxwell, who preceded her in death Oct. 2, 2000. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen Keith Maxwell; two brothers, Grover and Ed Hennessee, and sister, Jessie Henley.Mrs. Maxwell is survived by a granddaughter, Leann Nokes and husband Jason of McMinnville; great-grandson, Gage Evan Nokes of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Shirley Maxwell and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in High’s Chapel with Tony Lawrence officating.
