Mary Ruth Roberts, 79, of McMinnville, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025 in Sevierville. She was born on June 19, 1945 in Hickory, N.C. and was retired from Lowes of McMinnville as a department manager. She was a member of The Vine Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, William Pleas Elder and Ollie Mae Goforth Elder; daughter, Jeanne Lynn Cunningham; and brother Sam Elder. 

Mary is survived by her husband, Gregory “Greg” Clark Roberts; daughters, Janice (Lee) Ansell and Julie (Troy) Sullivan; grandchildren, Ashley Barnes (James Harden), Olivia Sullivan, William Sullivan and Clint Rigsby; great grandchildren, Kenzi Barnes, Brody Harden, Alyssa Rigsby, Victoria Rigsby and Trey Rigsby; brothers, Edwin “Chip” Elder and Loyd Elder; niece, Sheree Dyer; nephew, Sam Ross Elder; and other nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

A memorial service for Mary Ruth Roberts was scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March  8 at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Cole Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
