Marion Thomas Ward, 89, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, died Nov. 25 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville.
He was a retired employee of Burroughs-Ross-Colville, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Armstrong Church of Christ, and son of the late Titus P. and Bytha Jane Simmons Ward.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Bonnie Mae Miller; four brothers-in-law, James Martin, Edward Oliver, Douglas Haston and Richard Miller Jr., and sister-in-law, Jean Ward.
He was married May 9, 1946 to Winona Pauline Martin Ward, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Darrell (Janice) Ward and Gary Ward of McMinnville; three grandsons, Cory (Mandy) Ward of Summitville, Jeremy Ward and Shawn Ward of McMinnville; five great-grandchildren, Raven, River, Zarek, Caleb and Cynthia; brother, Paul Ward of the Smartt community and sister, Delma Haston of McMinnville; and sister-in-law, Juanita Oliver of McMinnville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be noon Saturday, Nov. 29 in High’s Chapel with Billy Reed and Johnny Lance to officiate. Interment will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
