Marguerite Cope Close, 81, of McMinnville, died Thursday, Dec. 1 at her residence. She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Sylva, N.C., was a homemaker, and a member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Close was preceded in death by parents Gentry and Vesta Cope, an infant sister Freda Jean Cope, and her brothers Marvin, Barton, and R.L. Cope.Survivors include her husband Odis Close, son and daughter-in-law Charles Barry (Gwen) Close, grandchildren Kalli Close, Nick Close, and Dan (Kelly) Close, sister Juanita Walker, and brother Larry (Joan) Cope.
