Mr. Malcolm Chris McBride, 62, of Rock Island died on Wednesday, July 7, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville.

Chris was born Monday, Nov. 3, 1958 in McMinnville, the son of Lewis McBride and Eva Land Underhill. He was a construction worker.

Surviving are two daughters, Katrina Hattaway and husband Jon of McMinnville, and Chassitty Mount and husband Josh of Georgia, two brothers, Rick McBride of McMinnville, Hal Underhill and wife Rosa of McMinnville, life partner Mildred Hunter and children Shahn Hunter, Tisha Hunter, and Holly Hunter, all of Rock Island, one aunt Inez Short of Mt. Juliet, one uncle Lewis Land and wife Opal of McMinnville, several friends also survive, two grandchildren, Ethan Hattaway and Nick Hight.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Greg McBride, and sister Sharon Boyd.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home, 415 North Chancery Street, with John McKelvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 12, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mount Plesant Cemetery in Dunlap.
