McMinnville resident and Woodbury native Macon Osment Rains, 88, was born June 10, 1928 and died Oct. 28 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.A homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late John Ernest “Mutt” and Jennie Adeline Barrett Osment. She was married Dec. 3, 1949 to Virgil Vance Rains, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1998. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Gracie Lee Osment Neal; and three brothers, William Milton Osment, Shelah Clifton Osment and Everett Shelton “Sonny” Osment.
