Mr. Louis Russell Raper, 71, of Rock Island, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. He was born July 21, 1953, in Warren County, was a former employee of Carrier, was also a car salesman, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Raper was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie Russell and Ruby Leona Owens Raper; sister, Treva Joyce Raper; and brother, Lonnie Raper.

Survivors include his children, Steven Lewis Raper Wright and wife Jennifer, Brandon and his wife Miranda Raper, Brittany Jernigan, and Blake Raper; grandchildren, Abbie Mae Mullican Xander Lee and Dayton Jernigan; great-grandchildren, Aurora Mae Miller and Anastasia Blair Howiser; sister, Joy McBride; and brother, Terry and wife Melinda Raper. Other family members and friends also survive.

A private memorial service with the family will be conducted at a later date.
