Lota Jean Scott, 91, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born June 5, 1926 and died May 23 at St. Thomas West Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was a retired sales clerk with Stewarts, member of Central Church of Christ, and daughter of the late Tom and Jennie Braxton Argo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Tommye Adams.

Mrs. Scott is survived by daughter and son-in-law Anne and Douglas Smith of Nolensville; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Alicha Scott of LaVergne; granddaughter Hayley Smith of Nolensville; nieces and spouses Cindy and Ronnie Rogers of McMinnville, Carol and Steve Trent of Johnson City; and great-nephews, C.J. Rogers, Andrew Trent and John Trent.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Julian Goodpaster officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Saturday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
