McMinnville resident and Warren County native Lonnie Clyde “Bill” McBride, 88, was born Dec. 25, 1928 and died Jan. 7 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness.
The former owner of McBride’s Window Cleaning and a member of Rolling Acres Brethren in Christ Church, he was the son of the late Santford and Lila Jordan McBride. He was married Dec. 26, 1946 to Lucille Irene Dunckley McBride, who preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2013. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by son, Doug McBride; daughter-in-law, Glenda McBride; two brothers, Richard and Jay McBride; son-in-law, Daniel “Ike” Miller Sr.; and great-grandson, J.C. Giffin.
He is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Danny Tittsworth, Betty and William McCormack, Karyl and Michael Poss and Patricia and David Walker, all of McMinnville, and Diana and Gene Jones of Painesville, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie McBride, Santford “Peanut” and Patsy McBride, and Dennis and Virginia McBride, all of McMinnville; 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Morgan of McMinnville, Linda and Donald Gann of Paris and Jeanette and Kenneth Rogers of McMinnville; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy McBride of LaVergne and Jewell McBride of Painesville, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in High’s Chapel with Earnest Weber and Jeff McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
