Viola resident and Grundy County native Lillian Darnell Maxwell, 82, was born Nov. 7, 1929 and died Dec. 10 at her residence following a brief illness.A teacher’s aide and member of Viola United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leah Wooten Darnell. She was married June 5, 1948 to Carlos “Mutt” Maxwell, who preceded her in death July 29, 1974. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, David Rubley and brother-in-law, Dalton Hoover.
