McMinnville resident Lila Elizabeth (Simmons) Pearson, 79, died Oct. 30 in Bradenton, Fla.
The daughter of the late George Washington and Harriett Hortense Simmons, she was preceded in death by brother Anthony (Tony) Simmons and sister Joan Simmons Mealy.
She is survived by sons, Brad (Rhonda) Pearson, Warren (Kelley) Pearson; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, niece Melissa Simmons and dear friend Winton Gross.
Lila was a member of First Baptist Church and a life member of Entre Nous and gave her time to help raise money for local charities. She served as treasurer and was on the board of directors of the Kidney Foundation. She was president of Beta Sigma phi and played a huge role in getting the first dialysis machine for Manatee County, Fla. She was a broker/realtor for over 30 years and served as president of the MLS. Lila was a special lady touching many lives and will be greatly missed.
A graveside memorial gathering will be held Dec. 3 at Mt. View Cemetery at noon with prayers at 12:15 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at www.bcrfcure.org.
