McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Leonard Austin Madewell, 67, was born Feb. 24, 1946 and died July 15 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.A retired director with the Warren County Ambulance Service, a United States Navy veteran and a member of Dayspring Community Church, he was the son of the late Austin and Pauline Coppinger Madewell.He was married March 14, 1970 to Nadine Dixon Madewell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jackie Madewell of McMinnville and Bryan and Charlise Madewell of McMinnville; daughter, Tracey Madewell Terry of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; like a daughter, Maranda Allen of McMinnville; sister, Florence Madewell of McMinnville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Rex Boles and Jackie Matheny officiating.
