Leona Martin Hillis, 95, of McMinnville died Saturday, Aug. 9 at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville.
She was born June 15, 1919 in Warren County. She formerly worked for the Hosiery Mill, McMinnville Shoe, was a homemaker, a graduate of Draughon’s Business College, did volunteer work with Magness Memorial Library, and was a member of Shellsford Baptist Church. Mrs. Hillis was preceded in death by parents James L. and Maude Curtis Martin, her husband A.C. Hillis, a brother Albert Martin, sisters Bettye Millraney and Ada Mai Hill, and niece Kathy Millraney Morgan.
Survivors include brother Leonard (Lois) Martin, sister-in-law Donna Martin, nieces Suzie (David) Boyd, Sherri Beth (Chris) Wall, Jimmie Kaye Bouldin, and Stephanie Ann Martin, nephew Richard Michael Martin, great-niece Courtnee Wall, great-nephews Will Boyd, Chase and Cole Wall, and special caregivers Steve and Carolyn Morgan.
Funeral service was held Monday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Donald Owens and David Daugherty officiated. Interment followed at Shellsford Cemetery.
