McMinnville resident and Warren County native Lena Doak Jones, 94, was born May 25, 1929 and died Sept. 11, 2023 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation in McMinnville following an extended illness.

A retired counselor with the Tennessee State Employment Commission and a member of Westwood Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Elijah and Flossie McBride Doak. She was married to Charles Warren Jones on July 1, 1949 who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2021.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Hugh and Sam Doak and sister, Irene Doak. 

Mrs. Jones is survived by children, Randy (Kathy) Jones of Flowery Branch, Ga., Cindy (Monte) Swann of Viola and Chuck (April) Jones of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Mendi Davis, Travis Swann, Warren Swann, Elgin Leary and Megan McCoy; eight great-grandchildren, Will Davis, Eli Davis, Lexie McCoy, Beatrice McCoy, Waylon Swann, Violet Swann, Cannon McCoy and Charlotte Swann; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and close friend, Paula King.

A private graveside service was held with the family at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County.
