Morrison resident and Rhea County native Lee Roy Gunter, 82, was born Aug. 18, 1934 and died Oct. 1 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.A retired forklift driver at Carrier Corporation, United States Army veteran and member of the Pentecostal Church, he was the son of the late Austin and Viola Miles Gunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Penny Gunter; two brothers Clyde Gunter and Floyd “Tommy” Gunter and sister Nyoka Gunter.Mr. Gunter was married Jan. 2, 1960 to Nannie Lou Roach Gunter of Morrison. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Frankie Gunter of McMinnville; daughter Laura (Mike) Stevens of Tullahoma; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Pence of Florida, Gladys Graham of Morrison and Bonnie (Ernest) Cantrell of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.
