McMinnville resident and White County native Laurene May Porter, 79, was born July 15, 1933 and died unexpectedly July 23 at River Park Hospital.A homemaker and member of Bethany Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Amos Alvin and Nelta Stipe Veal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Wesley Ross and John Robert Porter; sister, JoAnn Veal and brother, Jack Veal. She is survived by three daughters, Dianne Spurlock Morton of Tullahoma, Cynthia Bourdon and Louise Miller, both of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Heather Goad of Tullahoma, William Hennessee of Florida, and Alexander Evan Bourdon of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Goad and Schuyler Parton; twin sister, Lorene Campbell of Hillsboro; brother, Jimmy Veal of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews.A graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. today at Bethany Cemetery with David Costello officiating.
