Larry D. Patton, 76, of McMinnville, formerly of Granite City, died Wednesday, July 2 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville.
  He was born March 21, 1938 in Granite City, a son to the late Lloyd Byron and Anna Rosalee (Drake) Patton. He was a longtime electrical engineer for Magnatec in Nashville. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in McMinnville and a United States Air Force veteran.
He was a very involved father who supported his kids and grandkids sports traveling to games and coaching little league and softball as well as being a big supporter of Girl Scouts. He enjoyed life with his friends and family fishing, playing golf and bowling where he achieved two perfect games. He enjoyed listening to country music and dancing with his wife. He will be remembered for his kind and loving heart and the many special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Mickey Lorraine (Hamilton) Patton, whom he married Oct. 27, 1956; sons, Larry and (Bobbie) Patton of Elsa, IL, Tracy and (Elaine) Patton of Granite City; daughter, Lorraine and (Steven) Prokopich of Elsa, Ill.; grandchildren, Michele and (Charles) Thomas, Stephenie and (Timothy) Hill, Shannon and (James) Huff, Brooke Patton, Samantha Patton; great-grandchildren, Kristen Turpin, Taylor, Hill, Noah Thomas, Emily Thomas, Cayley Thomas, Emma Huff, Chloe Hill, James Huff; brothers, Luther B. Patton, Jerry T. Patton.
