Katherine Fontaine Kap Stubblefield, 99

Katherine Fontaine “Kap” Stubblefield, 99, a McMinnville resident and Coahoma County, Ms., native died Jan. 18 in Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late James Francis and Teen Syme Ratiff Fontaine, a retired chemistry teacher with the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse and a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. She was married Oct. 21, 1939 to Edward Maddux Stubblefield, who preceded her in death in June 1962. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister Mary Elizabeth Fontaine.
Mrs. Stubblefield is survived by son, James (Barbara) Stubblefield of Alexandria, Va., two grandchildren, Dr. Adam Stubblefield of Mountain View, Calif., and Dr. Rachel Stubblefield of Hampton, Va. She is survived locally by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse, Wis., at a later date.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
