Mrs. Julia Grace Boyd, 73, passed away on Monday, Dec. 9 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. She was born on Nov. 18, 1951 in Chattanooga, was a social worker and case manager with Generations and a member of Trousdale Church of Christ. She always had a book in her hand, enjoyed gardening, was a graduate of Sequatchie County High School, received a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from MTSU, and was a member of Gamma Beta Phi Theta Kappa. She received the Social Worker of Year Award in 2012 and was a member of the Who’s Who in American Junior College.
Julia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harley Boyd; son, Kevin L. Boyd; daughter, Victoria L. Boyd; grandchildren, Samantha Elizabeth Boyd and Rachel Ann Nichole Boyd; brother, Ralph Lee (Karen) Green; and sister, Charlotte (Randall) Cagle. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by parents, Cecil Lee and Dessie Wilma Skyles Green and a brother, Charles Ray Green.
Funeral services for Julia Boyd will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Mike Ray and Alan Northcutt will officiate. Interment will follow at Trousdale Cemetery. Visitation with the Boyd family will be held at McMinnville Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
