Judith Anne Van Cleve Cleary, 82, a Knoxville resident and Englewood, N.J., native died Nov. 20 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City following a brief illness.Mrs. Cleary was a former McMinnville resident, retired teacher with the Warren County School System, member of First Presbyterian Church of McMinnville, and daughter of the late Philip and Gertrude Weber Wagner.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Richard Van Cleve and John Cleary; sister, Alice Lindstrom; and niece, Karon Lindstrom.She is survived by three sons, Andrew (Laurie) Van Cleve of Covington, Bruce (Lucy) Van Cleve of Knoxville, and David (Margie) Van Cleve of Yakima, Wash.; one daughter Kay (Jeff) Grissom of Greeneville; three stepchildren, Jeff (Marie) Cleary of Chattanooga, Mike (Nola) Cleary of Roanoke, Va., and Tim Cleary of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Eric (Molly) Van Cleve, Adrian (Ali) Van Cleve, Whitney (Rory) Elliott, Johnathan Van Cleve, Samantha Grissom, Philip Van Cleve, Kelli Grissom, Robert Van Cleve, Anne Marie Van Cleve and Jasper Andoy; brother-in-law, Dick Lindstrom; nephew, Rick Lindstrom; and niece, Donna.Mrs. Cleary was a graduate of Teaneck High School in Teaneck, N.J., and Dickinson College in Carlise, Pa. She was willing to serve others which lead her into the teaching field and church ministries. She was active with youth programs, women in the church, and various committees.
