Johnny Earl Fults, 82, died at his home Friday, July 19, with his family at his side. He was born in New Market, Ala., to Robert Lee “Bob” Fults and Pearl Payne Fults, who preceded him in death along with his wife of 51 years, Adell Campbell Fults; brothers, Carl and Fred Fults; sisters, Bertha Hobbs, Wilda Brown and Ethelene Fults. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 16 on June 22, 1948 and was trained at Fort Jackson, S.C., to be a tank operator with the Tank Company, Third Battalion of the Sixth Armed Calvary Regiment.
