Rev. John Lowell Clontz Sr., 95, of McMinnville died Wednesday, July 1, at his residence. He was born Aug. 16, 1919, in LeRoy, Ill., was a longtime minister at Calvary Baptist Church, founder of Millersburg Baptist Church in Christiana, and was preceded in death by parents Charles and Hallie Fowler Clontz, wife Billie Clontz, sister Leta Bright, and brother Don Clontz.Survivors include his children Beverly (Al) Wentzel of Crab Orchard, Ky., Debbie Morrison of McMinnville, Shelli (Trent) Young of McMinnville, and John L. (LaFonda) Clontz Jr. of Murfreesboro, seven grandchildren including Adina (Scott) Lemmon, Brian (Jessica) Clontz, Bud (Amber) Morrison, John (Leanne) Morrison, Kayla and Lucas Young, and Jonathan (Alyssa) Wentzel, and 13 great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Fittis and Rev. Jim Teddar will officiate.
