McMinnville resident and Warren County native John Lee Bouldin Sr., 96, was born March 11, 1925 and died Jan. 17 at his residence following a brief illness.
World War II and Korean War veteran of the United States Navy and retired owner of Rock Island Market, he was the son of the late M.A. and Ova Hitchcock Bouldin Sr. He was married on Aug. 31, 1946 to Helen Juanita Jones, who preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2009. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sonin- law Corker DeLoach Sr., grandson- in-law Bo Turner, brothers H.B. and M.A. Bouldin, and sisters Esther Bess, Dean Bess, and Dola Searle.
Mr. Bouldin is survived by two children and spouse, Ann DeLoach of McMinnville, and Bino and Sherry Bouldin of Rock Island, five grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Matthew Sheppard, Corker DeLoach Jr., Tessa Turner, Leigh Ann DeLoach, and Jase and LeAnne Bouldin, five great-grandchildren, Brendon Sheppard, Trace Bouldin, Maelee Turner, Lane Sheppard, and Reese Bouldin, special companion and caregiver Sue Phillips, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at High’s Chapel with Roy Terry and James William Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 12 p.m. until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
