John Kilby, 89

John Kilby, 89, of Tracy City died Friday, March 29 at his home.
He was a son of the late C.H. Kilby and Mary Pratt Kilby. He and his wife, Maudie, operated Modern Dry Cleaners in Tracy City for over 30 years. Mr. Kilby was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Croatan and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal and Sewanee Lodge No. 405 F & AM.
He is survived by his wife, Maudie Lewis Kilby; son, Ronny (Sharon) Kilby of Cowan and Vicki (Max) Geary of Brentwood; sister, Francis Payne of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Kim Gear Keidel, Trey Geary, Scarlett Kilby Cole, Cody Kilby; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clayton Jones officiating. Burial followed at Plainview Memorial Cemetery with full military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Online condolences may be made at www.fosterlayfuneralhome.net.
