Jeptsy T. Hillis, 87, of Rock Island (Rocky River community) died Sunday, June 19, at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was born on March 17, 1924, in Van Buren County and was a self-employed brick mason, a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Hillis was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Rachel Farless Hillis, sister Myrtle Hanes, brother Elmer B. Hillis, and twin brother Jenry V. Hillis.Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Wilma Dodd Hillis; son, Timmy Hillis, both of Rock Island; three grandchildren, Travis, Alex, and Seth Hillis; sisters, Eno Hennessee and Vernie Arney, both of McMinnville; and sister-in-law Elois Hillis of Morrison.
