McMinnville resident and Evansville, Ind., native Jeffery Billy Cathey, 49, was born March 8, 1963 and died April 4 at his residence following a one-year illness. An employee of Wright Brothers Construction Company and member of Morrison First Baptist Church, he was the son of Margaret Miller Cathey of Morrison and the late Billy Reece Cathey.He was married to Blenda Dillingham Cathey of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one stepson, Matthew Bennett of Unicoi; brother, Gregory (Toni) Cathy of Morrison; sister, Mary Lou (Jan) Davidson of Morrison; nieces and nephews, Justin Cathey of McMinnville and Judith Cathey, Alexander Davidson and Eric Davidson, all of Morrison; great-niece, Abigail Cathey of Morrison, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral service was held Saturday in High’s Chapel with Jackie Matheny officiating.
