Spencer resident James Thomas Delong, 71, died Feb. 4 at Life Care Center in Sparta.The son of the late John and Pauline Bouldin Delong, he was preceded in death by son, Johnny Delong and brother-in-law, R.G. Mealer.He is survived by his wife, Imogene Bouldin Delong; son, Earl Delong; daughter-in-law, Teresa Delong and sister, Doris Mealer, all of Spencer; sister-in-law, Margie Simmons and husband Gerald of Germantown; grandchildren, Nick and wife Beth, Cole and wife Amber, and Drew, all of Spencer; great-grandchildren, Rylan and Slade Delong of Spencer; nieces, Jamie Mealer Carter of Spencer and Alecia Simmons Sorrells of Germantown; nephew, Randal Mealer of Spencer; several grand nieces, nephews and friends.Services were held Tuesday at Spencer Funeral Home with Gene Brock officiating.
