Mr. James Oscar “Jimmy” Cooke, 83, of the Centertown community died Monday, Sept. 15, at Emerald Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee. He was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Bedford County, worked as a farm hand and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was the son of the late James (Jim) Robert and Dixie Juanita Hollandsworth Cooke.He is survived by his sister Linda Darlene Roberts and brother and sister-in-law Billy and Anna Cooke, all of McMinnville, nephews Shawn Roberts, Terry Cooke and Darris Cooke, nieces Kelly Roberts Baker, Tammy Roberts Frazier, Linda Griffin and Dawn Cooke, several great nieces and several great nephews, aunt and uncle Estella and Frank Pincomb of New Baltimore, MI, and aunt Helen Hollandsworth of the Green Hill community.A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
