James “Jim” Daniel Burke passed away peacefully in his home on May 18, 2025, at the age of 81. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Jim was born in Paris on June 29, 1943, to Rev. William D. Burke and Mary Hall Burke. He was known for his Christian faith, acts of service, and love of family and friends. Jim looked for ways to share his faith, in person and on social media. He made himself available wherever there was a need, with no distance too far to travel. Jim was especially proud of his family, including his daughter, with whom he shared many adventures. He greatly valued his friendships, both new and old, some going back to childhood.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Audra Burke; her mother, Brenda Alexander; sisters Sue (Bill) Hall, Patricia (Jerry) Massey, brother John (Jewell) Burke. He is also survived by former spouse Sarah Lance; stepchildren Brad (Teena) Blackwell, Tommy (Michele) Meyer, Marcie (Jeff) Adamson, Donica (Mike) Long, Cam Davis; step grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; former spouses Donna Holmes and Jan Meyer; sisters Mary Jo (Roe) Wyatt, Nell (Charlie) Brister, and Thelma (Charlie) Whitehead; stepson Corey Piatkowski.
The graveside service and interment was scheduled for 3 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at Grange Hall Cemetery. Rev. John Burke will officiate. The family received friends on Friday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
