McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native James Gordon Dunlap, 76, was born Nov. 1, 1946 and died July 7, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired delivery driver for Lowe’s Home Improvement and member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Fred and Sofia Simmons Dunlap. He was married to Reba Dunlap of McMinnville on Feb. 21, 1973. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Brenda Sue Pruitt, Richard Dewayne Holt and Barbara Faye Wallace; two brothers, Hobart Dunlap and Charlie Dunlap and two sisters, Frieda and Robbie.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Dunlap is survived by seven grandchildren, Angela Greene of Quebeck, Tenn., Jamie Graham (Karen) of Murfreesboro, and Christie (Chris) Madewell, Misty Harris, Bryan (Danielle) Graham, Brent (Samantha) Jacobs and Keri Crawford, all of McMinnville; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

A private graveside service will be held. No visitation will be held at High’s.
