McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Edward Evans, 78, was born Aug. 2, 1934 and died Aug. 30 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville following an extended illness. A retired machinist at AEDC, a farmer, a United States Navy veteran, and a member of Northside Church of Christ in Smithville, he was the son of the late Edward and Katherine Savage Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Howard Evans; and one sister, Barbara Green.
