James Doak Lentz, 87, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born Oct. 8, 1934, and died Nov. 3 at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital following an extended illness.
He was the owner of Lentz Nursery, a member of Irving College Baptist Church, and the son of the late Maurice and Mary Lou Doak Lentz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Lentz and Webb Lentz, sister Helen Boyd, and two children, Jason Paul Lentz and Jeffery Lynn Lentz.
Mr. Lentz is survived by his wife of 65 years, Loreta Rigsby Lentz of McMinnville, three children, Mack Lentz, Dale (Paula) Lentz, and Lauri (Darrell) Rigsby, all of McMinnville, four grandchildren, Brooke (Greg) Mast, Tessa Kithome, Ryan Bess, and Amy Tittsworth, and five great-grandchildren, Ty Kithome, Addie Kithome, Lola Tittsworth, Kate Mast, and Kyle Mast.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at High’s Chapel with Ryan Cripps officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
