McMinnville resident and Robertson County native James Burton Hinkle, 81, was born Aug. 15, 1930 and died Sept. 2 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.A retired foreman with Genesco and Gardner/ Findlay and member of Northside Baptist Church, he was the son of the late William and Vera Mae Cunningham Hinkle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joey Ryan Hinkle, and two sisters, Louise Goff and Shirley Goff.He was married April 2, 1949 to Martha Ryan Hinkle of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James Robert Hinkle, and Jeffrey Dean and Teressa Hinkle, all of McMinnville, and Jerry Bryan and Peggy Hinkle of Henryville, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Vincent and Martha Jane Eller, both of Adairville, Ky., and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in High’s Chapel.
