James Albert McBee, 88, a McMinnville resident and Winchester native, was born Nov. 4, 1930 and passed away Nov. 26 at his residence following an extended illness.


He was a retired industrial engineer with FormFit Rogers, a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church and son of the late Gaylor and Ella Finney McBee. Mr. McBee was a member of McMinnville Lions Club for 38 years and served in various positions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Paul McBee and Ray McBee.


Mr. McBee is survived by his wife, Beulah Powers McBee of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law Don and Nancy McBee of McMinnville; two granddaughters Lauren McBee of Chattanooga, and Ashley McBee of McMinnville; sister Mildred Thurman of Rossville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Jacqueline DeBerry and Rev. Harry Green to officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at the church. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Gum Creek Cemetery in Franklin County with Rev. Rocky Wray to officiate.


There will be no service or visitation at High’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
