Jack E. Newby, 81, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born Aug. 4, 1938 and passed away Oct. 27 at St. Thomas Highland of Sparta following a brief illness.

A retired farmer and a member of the Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Andrew Thurman and Ocie Bell Redmon Newby. He was also preceded in death by wife, Shirley May English Newby, siblings Josie Newby, Bessie Atnip, Arthur “Dick” Newby, Luceal King, J.T. Newby, Naomi Waller, James “Jim” Newby, Faye Bice, Joe Newby, Jean Newby, and Wayne Newby.

Mr. Newby is survived by four children and spouses Rhonda Moran of McMinnville, Shawn & William Palombo of McMinnville, Terry Hicks of Clarksville, and Tammy and David Adams of Clarksville, nine grandchildren Molli and Evan Moran, Ryan, Stevana, August, and Shani Palombo, Cody Luttrell, Brooke Jennings, and Cayli Hall, six great-grandchildren Isabelle Palombo, Lenyx and Kennedy Luttrell, Addalyn Hollowell, Braxton Jennings, and Georgia Hall, sister and brother-in-law Marguerite and Bill Loudermilk of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Salem Cemetery with August Palombo officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Monday at High's. Online condolences can be made at
