Ira Thomas Rumley, 67, of McMinnville died Tuesday, June 28, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1949, in Huntingdon, was retired as a senior hydro operator with TVA, a member of Christ United Methodist and served his country with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Rumley was preceded in death by parents Barney and Verlene Story Rumley, sister Maxcine Chandler, and brothers Allan, Dwayne and Miles Rumley.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years Mary Ann Byars Rumley, children Lisa (Derek) Coates and Shane (Emily) Rumley, all of McMinnville, brother Terry (Geneva) Rumley of Huntingdon, grandchildren Russ and Adam Prater and Landon and Mallory Rumley, all of McMinnville, and step-grandchildren Adam and Shelly Coates, both of England. Several nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Long Rock United Methodist Church. Rev. Ricky Lee and Rev. Mark Carrigan will officiate. Interment will follow at Long Rock Cemetery. The Rumley family will receive friends Friday from noon until 3 p.m. at Long Rock United Methodist Church in Huntingdon.
