Mr. Hubert Wayne Prater, 82, of McMinnville died Wednesday, Nov. 11. 

He was born Oct. 10, 1938, in McMinnville, was a retired heavy equipment operator, and attended The Vine Baptist Church. Mr. Prater was preceded in death by his parents Medford and Flora Dale Prater, wife Geneva Doris Prater, brothers Curtis Prater and Leon Prater, and granddaughter Jessica Prater.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Kimberly Renee (Carl) Curtis, sons Danny (Charlene) Prater and Jerry Prater all of Centertown, sisters Jean Stephens of Tullahoma, Linda (Charles) Hale of Centertown, and Elaine (Rick) Holobough of Centertown, brothers Gary Lee (Phyllis) Prater and Tommy Prater, both of Centertown, sister-in-law Wanda (Roy) Adams of McMinnville,  grandchildren Dustin Prater, Heather Prater, Brianna (Preston) Davis, Miranda (Dustin) Stephens, Madison Curtis, and Courtney Curtis, great-grandchildren Autumn Stephens, Lakelyn Stephens, Gracie Davis, and Mayson Prater-Perry, and special friends Larry, Wanda, Melba and Marlin. 

A private family funeral service for Mr. Prater was 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Tracy Curtis and Ken Kirby officiated. A private family only interment followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family of Mr. Hubert Prater wishes to express a special thank you to Fresenius Dialysis Center.
