Helen S. Peebles, 51, of Doyle died April 23 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
She was born May 11, 1964 in Lexington, Va. She was preceded in death by father C. Palmer Peebles, and beloved brothers Carlton and Christopher Peebles.
She is survived by her mother, Lynn Davis of Anchorage, Alaska; her sister, Sara
Peebles and nephews, Larkin and Brycen Lynch, also of Alaska; her brother, Clayton Peebles of Greensboro, N.C.; her brother, Charles Peebles, his wife Sharon Peebles, and their children, Chaz, Bryce and Darion, all of Lexington, Va. Many other friends and loved ones also survive.
Helen graduated from Lexington High School in 1982. She later attended Greensboro College in North Carolina and Motlow State Community College in McMinnville.
Helen was a kind and generous person, with a free, fun-loving spirit. She loved to ride her horses and blaze trails in the great outdoors around her river home. She loved all creatures large and small, including her many dogs and cats.
Helen was also an avid world traveler who was always looking for new adventures. Her love of travel and nature took her from coast to coast, north to the far reaches of Alaska, and way beyond to her favorite faraway places. But most of all, she loved her river home.
Helen adored her family and her friends. She was a loving aunt who was dearly loved by her nephews. She will be missed and mourned by family, friends and strangers alike, whose lives she touched along life’s journey before she left this world way too soon.
A private memorial service to honor Helen’s life was held Tuesday, April 26 at her river home.
