Gallatin resident and Warren County native Helen Lucille Newby, 88, was born Aug. 15, 1925 and died Jan. 30 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin following an extended illness.A homemaker and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Okla Homer “O.H.” and Emma Louvisa Christian Perry. She was married Feb. 10, 1946 to Carl M. Newby, who preceded her in death Aug. 29, 1986.She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Carl Douglas and Pam Newby of Gallatin; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Carol and Joel Greene of Old Hickory; four grandchildren and spouses, Linda Raye Newby of Gallatin, Carla Kaye and Ethan Huffard of Nashville, Alan Winston and Brandi Greene of Lebanon, and Michael Joel Greene of Old Hickory; three great-grandchildren, Eli and Sadie Huffard and Mason Greene; and step-great-grandson, Hunter Lockert.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Charles Williams and Tony Lawrence officiating.
