McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Helen Louise Young, 78, was born May 24, 1939 and died Dec. 18 at Saint Thomas Highland’s Medical Center in Sparta following an extended illness.

Retired from Oster and a member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hassie Yates Sullivan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Joe Ivy Bouldin and Clarence Young; daughter Oma Bouldin; grandson Logan Morris; stepson, Glenn Young; stepdaughter, Diane McBride; great-granddaughter, Kruiz Seibers; step-grandson, Chris Young; and two sisters, Bonnie Hale and Imogene Hamrick.

She is survived by seven children, Joe Bouldin, Hassie Ross, Margaret Bouldin, Eva Graham, Grady Bouldin and J.C. Bouldin, all of McMinnville, and Helen Seibers of Sparta; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters-in-law, James Sullivan of Spencer, Bobby and Wilma Sullivan of Smithville, and Danny and Betty Sullivan, Chester and Wanda Sullivan, Lester and Sue Sullivan, and Clyde Jr. and Brenda Sullivan, all of McMinnville; two sisters, Lillian Young of Rock Island and Mary Jo Johnson of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at High’s Chapel with Jason Nunley and Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Long Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s.
