McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native H. Nestor Stewart, 87, was born March 3, 1928 and died June 23 at Raintree Manor following a brief illness.The founder and owner of Stewart’s Pharmacy, a member of Central Church of Christ, and an elder at Central Church Christ for over 40 years, he was the son of the late Homer Hobson and Elizabeth Waddell Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stewart; and sister, Joanne Heaslip.He was married Sept. 7, 1950 to Dorothy Jo Sanders Stewart of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children and spouses, David and Peg Stewart of McMinnville, Ella and David Wilson of Brentwood, Donna Carr of Smithville, Sherri and Barry Stowe of Nashville, and Gina and Mike Craig of Wichita, Kan.; 17 grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart of Malibu, Calif., Justin Stewart of McMinnville, Brian Carr of Smithville, Lee Carr of Nashville, Patrick Carr of Hixson, Joseph Woodlee of McMinnville, John Michael Woodlee of Nashville, Emily Stewart of Nashville, William Craig of Rockford, Mich., Tyler Craig of Wichita, Kan., Austin Craig of Rockford, Mich., Sarah Fletcher of Bahama, N.C., Andrew Wilson of Brentwood, Ashleigh Wilson of Brentwood, Anne Carter Stowe of Nashville, Mary Charles Stowe of Nashville, and Lillian Stowe of Nashville; 14 great-grandchildren, Neri Stewart of Malibu, Calif., Madison Dye of Jacksonville, N.C., Ryvin Stewart of McMinnville, Toby Neal of Weatherford, Texas, Margeaux Stewart of Millington, Charlotte Stewart of Millington, Bryce Carr of Hixson, Layla Carr of Hixson, Elizabeth Carr of Smithville, Kathryn Carr of Smithville, Annelise Carr of Nashville, Lyla Carr of Nashville, Annabelle Woodlee of McMinnville, and Will Fletcher of Durham, N.C.; one great-great-grandchild, Landon Dye of Jacksonville, N.C.; two brothers and sister-in-law, Frank and Gail Stewart of McMinnville, and Derwood Stewart of McMinnville; and two sisters, June Newby Byrd and Faye Stewart both of Nashville.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Central Church of Christ with Joe Gray and Tim Parish officiating.
