McMinnville resident and Warren County native Grace Jacobs, 97, was born Aug. 24, 1916 and died March 10 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.
Retired from Genesco and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Sarah Elizabeth Stroud Blackburn. She was married to Abner Gerald “Ted” Jacobs, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Geraldine Majors; son, Ricky Jacobs; sister, Carletta Talley; and three brothers, Frank, Brown and Carl Blackburn.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Wolfe of McMinnville and Janice Tynes of Huntersville, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Hobbs, Candice Craig, Buddy Majors Jr., Micah Majors, Tim Majors, Daniel Majors and Skipper Jacobs, all of McMinnville, Beth Bowen of Huntersville, N.C., and Chris Tynes of Murfreesboro; and 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in High’s Chapel with Ben Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stroud Cemetery.
