McMinnville resident and Bledsoe County native Glenda Bounds, 69, was born Sept. 11, 1950 and died March 6 at Wyndridge Health & Rehabilitation Center in Crossville following an extended illness.

A retired CNA with St. Thomas River Park Hospital and a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Porter Lee and Clemma Pauline Parker Smith. She was married June 26, 2000 to Billy Bounds, who preceded her in death Oct. 24, 2014. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Lee Smith and Billy Smith, and nephew Joey Wayne Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Childress (Robert Hill) of McMinnville and Amy (Patrick) Kelley of Murfreesboro, two sons Wendell (Sharon) Webb of McMinnville and Chris (Janessa) Bounds of Murfreesboro, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, sister Carolyn (Robert) Williams of Oregon, brother-in-law Gerald “J.B.” Bounds (Martha Davis) of McMinnville, special son-in-law Timothy Childress of McMinnville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Bounds will be cremated. There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
