Gertrude Tressia Thomas, a Woodbury resident and Grundy County native, died April 22 at Woodbury Health Center following an extended illness.
She was a retired employee of Formfit Rogers, member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Dock Albert and Lucy Emma Myers Hobbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Jonah Hobbs and sister, Gladys Hampton.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by daughter, Joann Thomas Lorance of Woodbury; son, Larry (Chong) Thomas of Browns Mill, N.J.; three grandchildren, Lisa Nichols and Phillip Lorance of Woodbury and Jason Thomas of Cambridge, Mass.; one great-grandson, Jonathan Nichols; two brothers, Joe (Frances) Hobbs of the Centertown community, and Bobby (Katherine) Hobbs of Altamont.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in High’s Chapel with Kevin Key to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday until time of service at High’s. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
