Mrs. Geraldine J. Tanner, 91, of McMinnville died Tuesday, March 6, at NHC Health Care in Sparta.

She was born March 3, 1927, in White County, and was a retired store owner of Tanner’s Grocery Store. Mrs. Tanner was preceded in death by parents Buck and Annie Mae Craig Jordan, husband Thomas Mason Tanner, son Eddie Shultz, daughter Diana Prater, brothers Elmore Jordan and Donald Jordan, sisters Gladys Smith, Kate Whillhoite, Maige Geer, and Edith Henry, and stepdaughter Joan Ray.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law Pam Shultz of Tullahoma, sister Aileen Betchel of Akron, Ohio, grandchildren Kenny (Chasity) Shultz, Diana Michelle Davis, and Dwayne Prater, 11 great-grandchildren, stepchildren Tammy (Ronnie) Parker, Debbie (Thomas) Cantrell, Reva (Gary) Mullican, and Billy (Janice) Tanner. Other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., and again Friday from 12 p.m. noon to 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
