Rock Island resident and Warren County native, Gearldean Madewell, 73, was born March 29, 1951 and died Feb. 14, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following an extended illness.

A retired employee of Oster, she was the daughter of the late E.J. and Kathleen Davis Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Cecil Roberts, sisters, Carolyn Roberts and Brenda Koontz and nephew, Shaun Koontz.

Mrs. Madewell was married Aug. 24, 1968 to Gordon Wayne Madewell of Rock Island who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Rebecca Bond of Rock Island and Deanna Vaughn and Beverly (Dustin) Cannon both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kinsley Bond, Payton Strang, Noah Bryson, Malcahi Bryson, Lacey Cannon and Aaron Cannon; step-brother, Floyd Neal of DeKalb County; sisters, Janet (Daryl) Trapp and Donna (Buddy) Robertson both of DeKalb County and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 in High’s Chapel with Paul Dunlap to officiate. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek in Warren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
