Gary Landon Taylor, 70, a Rock Island resident and Warren County native, was born Nov. 4, 1946 and died Sept. 19 at his residence following an extended illness.He was a retired truck driver, deacon at Laurel Creek Baptist Church and son of the late Lester Willard and Edith Louise Hennessee Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Sheila Jane Taylor.Mr. Taylor was married Aug. 3, 1963 to Linda Sue Bumbalough Taylor, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Chad and Kathy Taylor of McMinnville, Rodney Taylor of Rock Island and Randy Taylor and Tenera Steagall of McMinnville; grandchildren, Daniel and Marina Taylor, Dustin Dennis, Aaron Taylor, Ashley and Jeremy Sandlin, Brittany and Jeremy Sandlin, Brooklyn Powers, Megan Taylor and Colby Taylor; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Clark Taylor, Joyce and Al Carter, Kenny and Shirley Taylor and Clayton and Dawn Taylor, all of McMinnville, Steve and Deborah Taylor of Lavergne and Barbara and Paul Crawford of Knoxville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Henry Hudson of Rock Island; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy and Lynette Bumbalough of Carthage; and brother-in-law, Wayne Bumbalough of McMinnville.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at High’s Chapel with Bro.
