Gail Elaine Travis, 76

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gail Elaine Travis, 76, was born April 17, 1939 and died July 20 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.
Retired from Rockford Textiles, a member of East End Church of Christ, and a 1958 graduate of McMinnville City High School, she was the daughter of the late B.F. and Jessie Mae Gilley Travis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Bob and Hattie VanHooser Gilley; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Mary Travis; brother, Derrick Fane Travis; sister, Betty Jo Jordan; nephew, Timothy Lee Jordan; and niece-in-law, Joann Tanner Jordan.
She is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Evelyn Travis of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Dean Young of McMinnville; three nieces and spouses, Debbie and Alan Holder of Jonesboro, Ga., Beverly and Jack Davenport of McMinnville, and Brenda and Mark Whiles of McMinnville; two nephews and spouse, Randy Jordan of McMinnville, and Brent and Tracie Travis of McMinnville; three great-nieces, five great-nephews, nine great-great-nieces and three great-great-nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at High’s Chapel with Kevin Key officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
