Warren County resident and Lake City native Frank “Bigfoot” Hawkins, 81, died March 12 at his home after an extended illness.A ginseng digger and a deacon with Long Mountain Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Levi Jackson and Elizabeth Tackett Hawkins and was preceded in death by son, Bobby Hawkins.He is survived by his wife, Betty Hawkins; five children, Catherine Sunday of Wisconsin, Linda Taylor of Clinton, Juanita and husband Doug Baker of Brunswick, Ga., Christine Hawkins and Bruce Hawkins, both of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, sister, Hessel Murray of Ohio; brother, Roy Hawkins of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Long Mountain Baptist Church with Douglas Hawkins and Bill Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Cagle Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation begins Sunday at 2 p.m. at the church.High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
