Flora Ruth Floyd Southard Sullivan, 80, a McMinnville resident and Coffee County native, was born July 16, 1937 and died July 28 in St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following an extended illness. She was a homemaker, of the Christian faith and daughter of the late Carl Mack and Ruby Jane Lewis Floyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Cleve Floyd; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Fults and Tom Whitmore.Survivors include seven children and spouses, Roger Steven and Bonnie Southard and Janice Marie and Willie Brimer, all of McMinnville, James Timothy and Evelyn Southard of Winchester, Lesia Gail Southard, Franklin Eugene and Michelle Southard and Johna Ruth and Ed Lowery, all of McMinnville and John L. Sullivan Jr. of Rock Island; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Edgar Lee and Peggy Floyd of Gleason; two sisters, Louise Fults and Frances Whitmore, both McMinnville; caregiver, Melba Vinca of Smithville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1 in High’s Chapel with Kevin Deason to officiate.
